Michelle Schouls

Michelle is a strategic public sector leader with over 25 years of experience in implementing capital facilities infrastructure projects. She excels in cross-departmental and organizational collaboration, driving innovation and sustainability, problem-solving, and championing equity and inclusion. Michelle prioritizes listening and is adept atuniting diverse perspectives to achieve common goals. Leading by example, she inspires teams to deliver high-quality projects that maximize community benefits.

As the former Director of Facilities Planning and Development at the City of Vancouver, Michelle was responsible for long-term capital planning for the City’s portfolio of approximately 650 buildings, ensuring alignment with the City Council’s policies and priorities. She led several major master planning initiatives requiring cross-departmental consultation, alignment, and partnership-building with external agencies such as the Vancouver School Board and BC Housing.
